Corporate Norwegian Lunch Delivery Platform Development

The Oslo-based client reached out to Mashkraft to automate and streamline its operations. They were a corporate lunch delivery business that delivered cooked meals daily to offices for the employees. They wanted to revamp the system as it was dated and in paper form for a more technologically advanced solution and cost-efficient system.

Lunchfarm is a leading provider of lunches to corporate firms in Oslo, Norway. They needed a solution to automate and streamline their scheduling and delivery of lunch orders. The new system should allow the employees of the various companies to easily register themselves and order lunches using smartphone apps and set up their weekly menus.

Company administrators should be able to manage and access their employees’ lunch orders. A single point of control would allow Lunchfarm administrators to automate and manage all the companies, set up lunch menus, process orders and run reports seamlessly.

Furthermore, the new system should allow the kitchen staff and the delivery personnel to plug into the system, package and deliver daily orders as well. A centralized database system will smoothly run the operation especially since all the departments are spread in various locations.

Solution

The client approached Mashkraft to build a customizable, state-of-the-art and cost-efficient lunch delivery solution. Agile methodologies were used for the development of web and mobile applications. A prototype was launched in a short time for the client validation and testing phase before full-scale development and launch.

Mashkraft achieved the developmental target in less than 3 months with weekly sprints. State-of-the-art cutting-edge technology was used for developing the platform quickly. Php Codeigniter and central cloud-based server via web services were the main tools used in developing the IOS, Android and web platforms.

The mobile apps were necessary for the employees to download and access the Lunchfarm interface to set the menu and order their lunch. Backend interfaces were provided to company administrators, employees, logistics and kitchen personnel to manage and process lunches with different roles.

Secure admin access, allows lunch farm administrators to manage all companies, their employees, lunch menus, orders and reports. Using the system, Lunchfarm staff easily generated invoices for the lunch orders placed by the companies for their employees.

Result

The system received great feedback from the companies and users for all platforms. The system improved the management, scheduling, delivery and payroll of the lunch orders for Lunchfarm staff.

Company employees can now easily and conveniently schedule their weekly lunch plans and order lunches which are hassle free. Lunchfarm can also run reports and send invoices to the client companies for their lunch orders with a click of a button.

More companies have subscribed to Lunchfarm since the launch of the new operating system. The automation and quick service improved customer experience and satisfaction. More companies opting for this new system have resulted in increased sales and helped generate more revenue.
